Today in my Journalistic Principles class I am planning to revisit one of the most challenging and distasteful experiences I have had as a member of the Society of Professional Journalists National Board. The University of Alabama is making headlines after a racial slur was used by one UA student to another student. Beyond acknowledging the incident and disciplining the offending student, the University must intensify its efforts to provide racial and cultural sensitivity training.
